USA Softball of Kansas City allows teams to “self-classify”. However, we do monitor a teams success. When it’s warranted, we will promote a team to the next higher level of classification. There are 2 types of classification. One is by description: Gold / A / B / C and the other is by Age.
Teams may play up in age or description of classification but may not play down in description of classification. Meaning, for example – An “A” team could play up to the Gold level but could not play down to the “B” level. In addition, any team classified as Gold is restricted to the Gold level or divisions listed as “open”.
